More than a garden centre and bistro, Tanglebank Gardens hopes to plant seeds of inspiration in the hearts and minds of all of their guests. The original Tanglebank began as a Homestead in Saskatchewan in 1920, opened by the owner’s Grandfather who immigrated from England in 1912.
This family business moved to Abbotsford, B.C., and blossomed in 1996 into the garden centre it is today. A bistro was added in 2012, growing with the family's passions and the seeds that they planted.
When you visit Tanglebank Gardens you can stroll through their beautiful gardens, visit the garden centre, enjoy a European-inspired gift store, and then enjoy brunch on one of two garden patios. Or, simply enjoy a tasty sip in front of the fireplace inside.
Tanglebank has a Head Gardener, Lauren, who keeps the gardens planted and manages the garden centre. Chef Dayna cooks up delicious menus from the produce that Lauren grows, Brenda adds a European flavour, and Arnold watches over it all.
Tanglebank is a year-round destination that plays to the seasons, growing many of the seed varieties found in the West Coasts Seeds’ catalogue. Vegetables grown in their gardens, and in their potager garden, are harvested and served in the bistro. This means that customers don’t just get to see how their vegetables grow, they can even taste them.
The bistro has a covered and heated timber frame patio, which makes for safe outdoor dining during these interesting times. There is plenty of space for enjoying the gardens and the gift store. Tanglebank is a destination for all ages; a place where children can roam, their parents can relax, and grandparents can remember.
Find Tanglebank on Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest. Their menu is also available online, with delicious recipes that incorporate fresh herbs, fruit, and vegetables grown on site from their garden.
